Exodus 12:1And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, in the land of Egypt, saying,Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
Exodus 12:2`This month [is] to you the chief of months it [is] the first to you of the months of the year;"This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.
Exodus 12:3speak ye unto all the company of Israel, saying, In the tenth of this month they take to them each man a lamb for the house of the fathers, a lamb for a house.Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household;
Exodus 12:4`(And if the household be too few for a lamb, then hath he taken, he and his neighbour who is near unto his house, for the number of persons, each according to his eating ye do count for the lamb,)and if the household be too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls; according to everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.
Exodus 12:5a lamb, a perfect one, a male, a son of a year, let be to you; from the sheep or from the goats ye do take [it].Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:
Exodus 12:6`And it hath become a charge to you, until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole assembly of the company of Israel have slaughtered it between the evenings;and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.
Exodus 12:7and they have taken of the blood, and have put on the two side-posts, and on the lintel over the houses in which they eat it.They shall take same of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.
Exodus 12:8`And they have eaten the flesh in this night, roast with fire; with unleavened things and bitters they do eat it;They shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.
Exodus 12:9ye do not eat of it raw, or boiled at all in water, but roast with fire, its head with its legs, and with its inwards;Don't eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; with its head, its legs and its inner parts.
Exodus 12:10and ye do not leave of it till morning, and that which is remaining of it till morning with fire ye do burn.You shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.
Exodus 12:11`And thus ye do eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and ye have eaten it in haste; it is Jehovah`s passover,This is how you shall eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh's Passover.
Exodus 12:12and I have passed over through the land of Egypt during this night, and have smitten every first-born in the land of Egypt, from man even unto beast, and on all the gods of Egypt I do judgments; I [am] Jehovah.For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Yahweh.
Exodus 12:13`And the blood hath become a sign for you on the houses where ye [are], and I have seen the blood, and have passed over you, and a plague is not on you for destruction in My smiting in the land of Egypt.The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:14`And this day hath become to you a memorial, and ye have kept it a feast to Jehovah to your generations; a statute age-during; ye keep it a feast.This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to Yahweh: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.
Exodus 12:15Seven days ye eat unleavened things; only in the first day ye cause leaven to cease out of your houses; for any one eating anything fermented from the first day till the seventh day, even that person hath been cut off from Israel.Seven days shall you eat unleavened bread; even the first day you shall put away yeast out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exodus 12:16`And in the first day [is] a holy convocation, and in the seventh day ye have a holy convocation; any work is not done in them, only that which is eaten by any person it alone is done by you,In the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
Exodus 12:17and ye have observed the unleavened things, for in this self-same day I have brought out your hosts from the land of Egypt, and ye have observed this day to your generations a statute age-during.You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall you observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.
Exodus 12:18`In the first [month], in the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, ye do eat unleavened things until the one and twentieth day of the month, at evening;In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening.
Exodus 12:19seven days leaven is not found in your houses, for any [one] eating anything fermented that person hath been cut off from the company of Israel, among the sojourners or among the natives of the land;Seven days shall there be no yeast found in your houses, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a sojourner, or one who is born in the land.
Exodus 12:20anything fermented ye do not eat, in all your dwellings ye do eat unleavened things.`You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.'"
Exodus 12:21And Moses calleth for all the elders of Israel, and saith unto them, `Draw out and take for yourselves [from] the flock, for your families, and slaughter the passover-sacrifice;Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, "Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover.
Exodus 12:22and ye have taken a bunch of hyssop, and have dipped [it] in the blood which [is] in the basin, and have struck [it] on the lintel, and on the two side-posts, from the blood which [is] in the basin, and ye, ye go not out each from the opening of his house till morning.You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
Exodus 12:23`And Jehovah hath passed on to smite the Egyptians, and hath seen the blood on the lintel, and on the two side-posts, and Jehovah hath passed over the opening, and doth not permit the destruction to come into your houses to smite.For Yahweh will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Yahweh will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.
Exodus 12:24`And ye have observed this thing, for a statute to thee, and to thy sons unto the age;You shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.
Exodus 12:25and it hath been, when ye come in unto the land which Jehovah giveth to you, as He hath spoken, that ye have kept this service;It shall happen when you have come to the land which Yahweh will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service.
Exodus 12:26and it hath come to pass when your sons say unto you, What [is] this service ye have?It will happen, when your children ask you, 'What do you mean by this service?'
Exodus 12:27that ye have said, A sacrifice of passover it [is] to Jehovah, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, in His smiting the Egyptians, and our houses He delivered.`that you shall say, 'It is the sacrifice of Yahweh's Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, and spared our houses.'" The people bowed their heads and worshipped.
Exodus 12:28And the people bow and do obeisance, and the sons of Israel go and do as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron; so have they done.The children of Israel went and did so; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
Exodus 12:29And it cometh to pass, at midnight, that Jehovah hath smitten every first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who is sitting on his throne, unto the first-born of the captive who [is] in the prison-house, and every first-born of beasts.It happened at midnight, that Yahweh struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
Exodus 12:30And Pharaoh riseth by night, he and all his servants, and all the Egyptians, and there is a great cry in Egypt, for there is not a house where there is not [one] dead,Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Exodus 12:31and he calleth for Moses and for Aaron by night, and saith, `Rise, go out from the midst of my people, both ye and the sons of Israel, and go, serve Jehovah according to your word;He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, "Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!
Exodus 12:32both your flock and your herd take ye, as ye have spoken, and go; then ye have blessed also me.`Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!"
Exodus 12:33And the Egyptians are urgent on the people, hasting to send them away out of the land, for they said, `We are all dead;`The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, "We are all dead men."
Exodus 12:34and the people taketh up its dough before it is fermented, their kneading-troughs [are] bound up in their garments on their shoulder.The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
Exodus 12:35And the sons of Israel have done according to the word of Moses, and they ask from the Egyptians vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and garments;The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.
Exodus 12:36and Jehovah hath given the grace of the people in the eyes of the Egyptians, and they cause them to ask, and they spoil the Egyptians.Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the Egyptians.
Exodus 12:37And the sons of Israel journey from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, apart from infants;The children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.
Exodus 12:38and a great rabble also hath gone up with them, and flock and herd very much cattle.A mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much cattle.
Exodus 12:39And they bake with the dough which they have brought out from Egypt unleavened cakes, for it hath not fermented; for they have been cast out of Egypt, and have not been able to delay, and also provision they have not made for themselves.They baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt; for it wasn't leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and couldn't wait, neither had they prepared for themselves any food.
Exodus 12:40And the dwelling of the sons of Israel which they have dwelt in Egypt [is] four hundred and thirty years;Now the time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.
Exodus 12:41and it cometh to pass, at the end of four hundred and thirty years yea, it cometh to pass in this self-same day all the hosts of Jehovah have gone out from the land of Egypt.It happened at the end of four hundred thirty years, even the same day it happened, that all the hosts of Yahweh went out from the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:42A night of watchings it [is] to Jehovah, to bring them out from the land of Egypt; it [is] this night to Jehovah of watchings to all the sons of Israel to their generations.It is a night to be much observed to Yahweh for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. This is that night of Yahweh, to be much observed of all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
Exodus 12:43And Jehovah saith unto Moses and Aaron, `This [is] a statute of the passover; Any son of a stranger doth not eat of it;Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, "This is the ordinance of the Passover. There shall no foreigner eat of it,
Exodus 12:44and any man`s servant, the purchase of money, when thou hast circumcised him then he doth eat of it;but every man's servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.
Exodus 12:45a settler or hired servant doth not eat of it;A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.
Exodus 12:46in one house it is eaten, thou dost not carry out of the house [any] of the flesh without, and a bone ye do not break of it;In one house shall it be eaten; you shall not carry forth anything of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall you break a bone of it.
Exodus 12:47all the company of Israel do keep it.All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
Exodus 12:48`And when a sojourner sojourneth with thee, and hath made a passover to Jehovah, every male of his [is] to be circumcised, and then he doth come near to keep it, and he hath been as a native of the land, but any uncircumcised one doth not eat of it;When a stranger shall sojourn with you, and will keep the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one who is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.
Exodus 12:49one law is to a native, and to a sojourner who is sojourning in your midst.`One law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who sojourns among you."
Exodus 12:50And all the sons of Israel do as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron; so have they done.Thus did all the children of Israel. As Yahweh commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
Exodus 12:51And it cometh to pass in this self-same day, Jehovah hath brought out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, by their hosts.It happened the same day, that Yahweh brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.
