1st-Peter 5:1Elders who [are] among you, I exhort, who [am] a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory about to be revealed a partaker,I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:
1st-Peter 5:2feed the flock of God that [is] among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind,Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
1st-Peter 5:3neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4and at the manifestation of the chief Shepherd, ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.When the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
1st-Peter 5:5In like manner, ye younger, be subject to elders, and all to one another subjecting yourselves; with humble-mindedness clothe yourselves, because God the proud doth resist, but to the humble He doth give grace;Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."Likewise [ye] younger, be subject to [the] elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against [the] proud, but to [the] humble gives grace.
1st-Peter 5:6be humbled, then, under the powerful hand of God, that you He may exalt in good time,Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in [the due] time;
1st-Peter 5:7all your care having cast upon Him, because He careth for you.casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
1st-Peter 5:9whom resist, stedfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings to your brotherhood in the world to be accomplished.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world.
1st-Peter 5:10And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you];But may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.But the God of all grace who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered for a little while, himself shall make perfect, stablish, strengthen, ground:
1st-Peter 5:11to Him [is] the glory, and the power to the ages and the ages! Amen.To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.to him [be] the glory and the might for the ages of the ages. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12Through Silvanus, to you the faithful brother, as I reckon, through few [words] I did write, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God in which ye have stood.Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written to you briefly; exhorting and testifying that this is [the] true grace of God in which ye stand.
1st-Peter 5:13Salute you doth the [assembly] in Babylon jointly elected, and Markus my son.She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.She that is elected with [you] in Babylon salutes you, and Marcus my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Salute ye one another in a kiss of love; peace to you all who [are] in Christ Jesus! Amen.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who [are] in Christ.
