| Acts 23:1 | And Paul having earnestly beheld the sanhedrim, said, `Men, brethren, I in all good conscience have lived to God unto this day;` | Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, "Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day." | And Paul, fixing his eyes on the council, said, Brethren, I have walked in all good conscience with God unto this day. |
| Acts 23:2 | and the chief priest Ananias commanded those standing by him to smite him on the mouth, | The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth. | But the high priest Ananias ordered those standing by him to smite his mouth. |
| Acts 23:3 | then Paul said unto him, `God is about to smite thee, thou whitewashed wall, and thou thou dost sit judging me according to the law, and, violating law, dost order me to be smitten!` | Then said Paul to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?" | Then Paul said to him, God will smite thee, whited wall. Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!" | But Paul, knowing that the one part [of them] were of the Sadducees and the other of the Pharisees, cried out in the council, Brethren, *I* am a Pharisee, son of Pharisees: *I* am judged concerning the hope and resurrection of [the] dead. |

| Acts 23:10 | and a great dissension having come, the chief captain having been afraid lest Paul may be pulled to pieces by them, commanded the soldiery, having gone down, to take him by force out of the midst of them, and to bring [him] to the castle. | When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the barracks. | And a great tumult having arisen, the chiliarch, fearing lest Paul should have been torn in pieces by them, commanded the troop to come down and take him by force from the midst of them, and to bring [him] into the fortress. |

| Acts 23:21 | thou, therefore, mayest thou not yield to them, for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who did anathematize themselves not to eat nor to drink till they kill him, and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from thee.` | Therefore don't yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse neither to eat nor to drink until they have killed him.
