Luke 17:1And he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo [to him] through whom they come;He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that occasions of stumbling should not come, but woe to him through whom they come!And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come!
Luke 17:2it is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble.It would be better for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.
Luke 17:3`Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him,Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.
Luke 17:4and if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.`If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns again, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."And if he should sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times should return to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
Luke 17:5And the apostles said to the Lord, `Add to us faith;`The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."And the apostles said to the Lord, Give more faith to us.
Luke 17:6and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.The Lord said, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, 'Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.But the Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye had said to this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.
Luke 17:7`But, who is he of you having a servant ploughing or feeding who, to him having come in out of the field, will say, Having come near, recline at meat?But who is there of you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, 'Come immediately and sit down at the table,'But which of you [is there] who, having a bondman ploughing or shepherding, when he comes in out of the field, will say, Come and lie down immediately to table?
Luke 17:8but will not [rather] say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink?and will not rather tell him, 'Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you will eat and drink?'But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink?
Luke 17:9Hath he favour to that servant because he did the things directed? I think not.Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.Is he thankful to the bondman because he has done what was ordered? I judge not.
Luke 17:10`So also ye, when ye may have done all the things directed you, say We are unprofitable servants, because that which we owed to do we have done.`Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.'"Thus *ye* also, when ye shall have done all things that have been ordered you, say, We are unprofitable bondmen; we have done what it was our duty to do.
Luke 17:11And it came to pass, in his going on to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee,It happened, as he was on his way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.And it came to pass as he was going up to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
Luke 17:12and he entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood afar off,As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood far away.And as he entered into a certain village ten leprous men met him, who stood afar off.
Luke 17:13and they lifted up the voice, saying, `Jesus, master, deal kindly with us;`They lifted up their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"And they lifted up [their] voice saying, Jesus, Master, have compassion on us.
Luke 17:14and having seen [them], he said to them, `Having gone on, shew yourselves to the priests;` and it came to pass, in their going, they were cleansed,When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." It happened, as they went, they were cleansed.And seeing [them] he said to them, Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass as they were going they were cleansed.
Luke 17:15and one of them having seen that he was healed did turn back, with a loud voice glorifying God,One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.And one of them, seeing that he was cured, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice,
Luke 17:16and he fell upon [his] face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.He fell on his face at his feet, giving him thanks. He was a Samaritan.and fell on [his] face at his feet giving him thanks: and *he* was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:17And Jesus answering said, `Were not the ten cleansed, and the nine where?Jesus answered, "Weren't the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but the nine, where [are they]?
Luke 17:18There were not found who did turn back to give glory to God, except this alien;`Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this stranger?"There have not been found to return and give glory to God save this stranger.
Luke 17:19and he said to him, `Having risen, be going on, thy faith hath saved thee.`He said to him, "Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you."And he said to him, Rise up and go thy way: thy faith has made thee well.
Luke 17:20And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The kingdom of God doesn't come with observation;And having been asked by the Pharisees, When is the kingdom of God coming? he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
Luke 17:21nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.`neither will they say, 'Look, here!' or, 'Look, there!' for behold, the kingdom of God is within you."nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.
Luke 17:22And he said unto his disciples, `Days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye shall not behold [it];He said to the disciples, "The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.And he said to the disciples, Days are coming, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see [it].
Luke 17:23and they shall say to you, Lo, here; or lo, there; ye may not go away, nor follow;They will tell you, 'Look, here!' or 'Look, there!' Don't go away, nor follow after them,And they will say to you, Lo here, or Lo there; go not, nor follow [them].
Luke 17:24for as the lightning that is lightening out of the one [part] under heaven, to the other part under heaven doth shine, so shall be also the Son of Man in his day;for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.For as the lightning shines which lightens from [one end] under heaven to [the other end] under heaven, thus shall the Son of man be in his day.
Luke 17:25and first it behoveth him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.But first he must suffer many things and be rejected of this generation.
Luke 17:26`And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man;As it happened in the days of Noah, even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.And as it took place in the days of Noe, thus also shall it be in the days of the Son of man:
Luke 17:27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all;They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.they ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all [of them];
Luke 17:28in like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;Likewise, even as it happened in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;and in like manner as took place in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Luke 17:29and on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all.but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from the sky, and destroyed them all.but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed all [of them]:
Luke 17:30`According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed;It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.after this [manner] shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.
Luke 17:31in that day, he who shall be on the house top, and his vessels in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and he in the field, in like manner, let him not turn backward;In that day, he who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.In that day, he who shall be on the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not go down to take it away; and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Luke 17:32remember the wife of Lot.Remember Lot's wife!Remember the wife of Lot.
Luke 17:33Whoever may seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever may lose it, shall preserve it.Whoever seeks to gain his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall preserve it.
Luke 17:34`I say to you, In that night, there shall be two men on one couch, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left.I say to you, In that night there shall be two [men] upon one bed; one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.
Luke 17:35two women shall be grinding at the same place together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;There will be two women grinding together. The one will be taken, and the other will be left."Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.
Luke 17:36two men shall be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.`[Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be seized and the other let go.]
Luke 17:37And they answering say to him, `Where, sir?` and he said to them, `Where the body [is], there will the eagles be gathered together.`They answering, asked him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there will the vultures also be gathered together."And answering they say to him, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Where the body [is], there the eagles will be gathered together.
