1st-Peter 4:1Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, ye also with the same mind arm yourselves, because he who did suffer in the flesh hath done with sin,Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;Christ therefore having suffered in the flesh, be you also armed with the same thought: for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sins:
1st-Peter 4:2no more in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.That now he may live the rest of his time in the flesh , not after the desires of men, but according to the will of God.
1st-Peter 4:3for sufficient to us [is] the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,For we have spent enough of our past time living in doing the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.
1st-Peter 4:4in which they think it strange your not running with them to the same excess of dissoluteness, speaking evil,They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.
1st-Peter 4:5who shall give an account to Him who is ready to judge living and dead,who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.Who shall render account to him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1st-Peter 4:6for for this also to dead men was good news proclaimed, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, and may live according to God in the spirit.For to this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7And of all things the end hath come nigh; be sober-minded, then, and watch unto the prayers,But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.
1st-Peter 4:8and, before all things, to one another having the earnest love, because the love shall cover a multitude of sins;And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins.
1st-Peter 4:9hospitable to one another, without murmuring;Be hospitable one to another without grumbling.Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,
1st-Peter 4:10each, according as he received a gift, to one another ministering it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;According as each has received a gift, be ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the grace of God in its various forms.As every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another: as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1st-Peter 4:11if any one doth speak `as oracles of God;` if any one doth minister `as of the ability which God doth supply;` that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages. Amen.If any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If any man serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it, as of the power, which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Beloved, think it not strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,Beloved, don't be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you, as if some new thing happened to you;
1st-Peter 4:13but, according as ye have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice ye, that also in the revelation of his glory ye may rejoice exulting;But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
1st-Peter 4:14if ye be reproached in the name of Christ happy [are ye], because the Spirit of glory and of God upon you doth rest; in regard, indeed, to them, he is evil-spoken of, and in regard to you, he is glorified;If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you.
1st-Peter 4:15for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evil-doer, or as an inspector into other men`s matters;For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters.But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men's things.
1st-Peter 4:16and if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; and let him glorify God in this respect;But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
1st-Peter 4:17because it is the time of the beginning of the judgment from the house of God, and if first from us, what the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?For the time [has come] for judgment to begin at the house of God. If it begins first at us, what will happen to those who don't obey the gospel of God?For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, the ungodly and sinner where shall he appear?"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?"And if the just man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1st-Peter 4:19so that also those suffering according to the will of god, as to a stedfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in good doing.Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, commend their souls in good deeds to the faithful Creator.
