Matthew 8:1 | And when he came down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him, | When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. | Upon descending from the hill country He was followed by immense crowds. |
Matthew 8:2 | and lo, a leper having come, was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me;` | Behold, a leper came to him and worshipped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." | And a leper came to Him, and throwing himself at His feet, said, "Sir, if only you are willing you are able to cleanse me." |
Matthew 8:3 | and having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying, `I will, be thou cleansed,` and immediately his leprosy was cleansed. | Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. | So Jesus put out His hand and touched him, and said, "I am willing: be cleansed." Instantly he was cleansed from his leprosy; |
Matthew 8:4 | And Jesus saith to him, `See, thou mayest tell no one, but go, thyself shew to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.` | Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." | and Jesus said to him, "Be careful to tell no one, but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses appointed as evidence for them." |
Matthew 8:5 | And Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him, | When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him, | After His entry into Capernaum a Captain came to Him, and entreated Him. |
Matthew 8:6 | and saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,` | and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented." | "Sir," he said, "my servant at home is lying ill with paralysis, and is suffering great pain." |
Matthew 8:7 | and Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.` | Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him." | "I will come and cure him," said Jesus. |
Matthew 8:8 | And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed; | The centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. | "Sir," replied the Captain, "I am not a fit person to receive you under my roof: merely say the word, and my servant will be cured. |
Matthew 8:9 | for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth [it].` | For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." | For I myself am also under authority, and have soldiers under me. To one I say `Go,' and he goes, to another `Come,' and he comes, and to my slave `Do this or that,' and he does it." |
Matthew 8:10 | And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found; | When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, "Most assuredly I tell you, I haven't found so great a faith, not even in Israel. | Jesus listened to this reply, and was astonished, and said to the people following Him, "I solemnly tell you that in no Israelite have I found faith as great as this. |
Matthew 8:11 | and I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens, | I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven, | And I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west and will recline at table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of the Heavens, |
Matthew 8:12 | but the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.` | but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth." | while the natural heirs of the Kingdom will be driven out into the darkness outside: there will be the weeping aloud and the gnashing of teeth." |
Matthew 8:13 | And Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;` and his young man was healed in that hour. | Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you as you have believed." His servant was healed in that hour. | And Jesus said to the Captain, "Go, and just as you have believed, so be it for you." And the servant recovered precisely at that time. |

Matthew 8:17 | that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.` | that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases." | in order that this prediction of the Prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, "He took on Him our weaknesses, and bore the burden of our diseases." |

Matthew 8:25 | and his disciples having come to him, awoke him, saying, `Sir, save us; we are perishing.` | They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord! We are dying!" | So they came and woke Him, crying, "Master, save us, we are drowning!" |
Matthew 8:26 | And he saith to them, `Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?` Then having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm; | He said to them, "Why are you fearful, oh you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. | "Why are you so easily frightened," He replied, "you men of little faith?" Then He rose and reproved the winds and the waves, and there was a perfect calm; |
Matthew 8:27 | and the men wondered, saying, `What kind is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?` | The men marveled, saying, "What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" | and the men, filled with amazement, exclaimed, "What kind of man is this? for the very winds and waves obey him!" |
Matthew 8:28 | And he having come to the other side, to the region of the Gergesenes, there met him two demoniacs, coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass over by that way, | When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two people possessed with demons met him there, coming forth out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no man could pass by that way. | On His arrival at the other side, in the country of the Gadarenes, there met Him two men possessed by demons, coming from among the tombs: they were so dangerously fierce that no one was able to pass that way. |

Matthew 8:30 | And there was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding, | Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. | Now at some distance from them a vast herd of swine were feeding. |
Matthew 8:31 | and the demons were calling on him, saying, `If thou dost cast us forth, permit us to go away to the herd of the swine;` | The demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs." | So the demons entreated Him. "If Thou drivest us out," they said, "send us into the herd of swine." |
Matthew 8:32 | and he saith to them, `Go.` And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters, | He said to them, "Go!" They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. | "Go," He replied. Then they came out from the men and went into the swine, whereupon the entire herd instantly rushed down the cliff into the Lake and perished in the water. |
Matthew 8:33 | and those feeding did flee, and, having gone to the city, they declared all, and the matter of the demoniacs. | Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, and what happened to those who were possessed with demons. | The swineherds fled, and went and told the whole story in the town, including what had happened to the demoniacs. |
Matthew 8:34 | And lo, all the city came forth to meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on [him] that he might depart from their borders. | Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders. | So at once the whole population came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they besought Him to leave their country. |
